The MARDER tank is a German infantry fighting vehicle that entered service in 1970 and is still in active service with the armies of Germany, Indonesia, Chile and Jordan.
Approximately 2,100 MARDERs have been put into service. Its development began in the early 1960s and it entered service in the early 1970s.
