AVENGER AN/TWQ-1
The AVENGER AN/TWQ-1 is an American surface-to-air missile system for protection against cruise missiles, drones, airplanes and helicopters.
AVENGER AN/TWQ-1
This system was originally developed for the US forces in the 1980s. It consists of two missile-launching pods capable of firing up to 4 missiles in rapid succession.
AVENGER AN/TWQ-1
The US Army ordered more than 1,000 of these aircraft in the years 90-2000, mounted on HUMVEEs, code names: "M998 HMMWV Avenger" and "M1097 Heavy HMMWV Avenger".
AVENGER AN/TWQ-1
These missiles are deployed in combat zones such as in the Middle East, in Bosnia, and later around the Pentagon in Washington after the 11/09/2001.
Firing a missile from an AVENGER AN/TWQ-1
It was also deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Still 400 units are still active.
