The EBRC JAGUAR, in french: Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance et de Combat, means in english: Armored Reconnaissance and Combat Engine. Its purpose is to integrate a support vehicle in urban or mountainous combat.

It replaces the AMX 10 RC which was introduced in the French Army in 1976. The last ones were delivered in 1994.
Some were modernized to extend their operational careers until 2020-2025.

36 JAGUAR EBRCs will enter service in 2022.

The driver is at the front of the body and located in the center. The power plant is located at the rear. Its armament is of three types:

- a 40CTC rapid-fire gun of 40mm calibre.

- a launcher of two anti-tank missiles MMP

- a 7,62mm remotely operated turret

Its 490-horsepower engine allows it to travel at a speed of 90 km/h on the road and 70 km/h off-road, with a range of 800 kilometers. Thanks to an inverter system, it can reverse on a 10% hill at a speed of 25 km/h.

It also has a turning radius of 17 meters.

70% of the equipment is shared with the VBMR Griffon, the successor to the VAB.
