The Armory Recovery Vehicle (ARV) is a type of armored fighting vehicle.
They are intended as a towing vehicle for armored vehicles that break down during combat, or to tow them out of the danger zone for more extensive repairs.
ARVs are normally built on a battle tank chassis, but some are also built on the basis of other armored fighting vehicles, mostly armored personnel carriers.
ARVs are usually built on the basis of a vehicle of the same class they are supposed to recover.
They are also used as an earthmoving vehicle for the engineers.
