The BMP 2 is a Soviet infantry fighting vehicle that now equips the Russian Army.
It was designed in 1974 and over 14,000 were produced until 2005.
It is equipped with a two-seater turret. It has a crew of 3 and can carry 7 infantrymen.
It has a range of over 500 kilometres.
The BMP 2 is still in use in many former Soviet bloc countries, as well as Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, India, Finland and Algeria.
During the War in Ukraine, as of 02 October 2022, more than 500 Russian BMP 2 casualties have occurred, including 300 destroyed.
